A prism breaks light, transforming it into a spectrum of color. The PRISM Award, presented annually by the Georgia Coach Association, honors organizations who use coaching to redefine themselves “in a new light.” By breaking ‘business as usual’ with a spectrum of ideas and strategies they leverage strengths and transform human potential into achievement. PRISM recognizes organizations from the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors who have achieved excellence through a commitment to coaching as a business strategy.
The PRISM Award is a simple yet elegant quartz crystal that represents the pinnacle of collaboration between coaches and client organizations. It represents the clarity of thinking, the harmony, and the alignment of many human energies working together to achieve dreams and business goals. It is a tangible recognition of companies and organizations that have made the most of their opportunities to benefit from coaching initiatives.
Toronto Coach Association member Patti Burgess, the architect of the award, has said that the concept for the award came to her when she thought of coaching as a tool to help clients create "full spectrum living" for themselves. The idea of a spectrum led to "prism" because of the ability of the quartz crystal to refract light into the full spectrum of colors.
